Now on the eve of its centenary year, the name is a tribute to a legend of Alfa Romeo and automobile history. Giulietta is the vehicle which a whole generation of motorists dreamed of in the 1950s, but which also made the dream of owning an Alfa Romeo possible for the first time, combining availability and first-class comfort with technical excellence.
Now a new Giulietta has emerged from the Alfa Romeo Design Centre, a sports car capable of amazing agility on the most challenging roads as well as being comfortable and easy to handle in everyday situations.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta represents an evolution within a new Alfa Romeo vision which began with the 8C Competizione. Design and technology have been fused with one hundred years of passion, technical excellence and success, putting Alfa Romeo at the cutting-edge of future sports cars.
It is the sporty alternative to an everyday car. And as one would expect from an Alfa Romeo, it has muscular proportions, dynamic handling and enormous power. At the same time it offers an exceptional driving experience, with a more spacious interior and boot as well as advanced safety features.
And so a new compact Alfa Romeo has emerged, capable of satisfying customers who are looking for the most in dynamic performance and those who are looking for a saloon car with exclusive design and extra comfort.
The engines, all of which are Turbo, and the Start & Stop technology combine increased power with reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. At the launch, five engines will be available, where the 1750TBi in the exclusive Cloverleaf configuration is sure to stand out.
The new design utilises materials such as aluminium, magnesium and high-strength steels, making the vehicle tougher but also lighter and increasing your driving pleasure and comfort, even in more challenging driving conditions.
The intelligent Alfa Romeo D.N.A. technology allows three settings which adapts the overall behaviour of the vehicle to respond to the driver's needs in real time, such as regulating the steering response, the engine response logistics, the intervention of the Q2 electronic differential and the vehicle dynamic control (VDC).
Combining sportiness and elegance, the Alfa Giulietta embodies Alfa Romeo's new technology and design direction, which began with the 8C Competizione "supercar" and is highlighted by the return to Italian names, which on the one hand communicates the brand's rich tradition and on the other hand its technological and emotional values.
The front end was developed out of a trilobed shape and is characterised by a loose interpretation of the classic grill suspended between the air intakes and the DRL and LED headlights. The outline recalls a coupé, with the backdoor handles hidden in the ribbing, highlighting its dynamism.
The design of the rear, like the front and sides, displays strong lines which add to the impression of a muscular vehicle which physically grips the road. Furthermore, like the front headlights, the innovative rear headlights use LED technology, which are not only more beautiful, but safer too.
The interior clearly takes inspiration from the Giulietta of the 1950s with its streamlined shape and light and sharp lines. The "balance" controls in the centre of the dashboard, on the other hand are reminiscent of the modern day 8C Competizione.
The technical innovations of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta are combined with the quality of the detail and meticulous care in the choice of materials. The result of which is a true expression of Italian design and mastery.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta has the dimensions and proportions of a compact vehicle, but with ample space for the highest comfort, as well as a 350 litre boot. All this is combined with extraordinary dynamic performance, thanks to the technology developed for the steering, undercarriage and suspension, capable of guaranteeing ideal agility and traction. This makes the Alfa Romeo Giulietta the sporty alternative to the every day car.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta has been designed to ensure maximum active safety. Every aspect has been optimised to ensure maximum control in every condition, from the frame to the suspension, from the brake system to the steering.
All the most advanced driving assistance systems, such as VDC, are standard for all models, while Alfa Romeo's most advanced technology, D.N.A., which acts on the Q2 Electronic Differential and the DST, is also included.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta has been designed to incorporate the greatest level of passive safety, protecting each passenger as much as possible. These safety features are also standard across all models.
